Former Atletico Madrid defender Tomas Ujfalusi has warned his ex-teammate David de Gea that signing for Real Madrid this summer will turn him into a hate figure, the Daily Star reports.
The Manchester United stopper is said to be desperate to head back to the Spanish capital this summer and is expected to complete a move to Real should the two clubs agree a fee.
De Gea was spotted in Madrid earlier this week, but insisted that he was only there for a short holiday before the pre-season campaign gets underway next week.
But former Czech Republic international Ujfalusi, who lined up alongside the goalkeeper during their time together at the Vicente Calderon, has warned him to think twice before rushing into a deal to join Los Blancos.
Ujfalusi believes the fans that once loved him would never forgive him for switching allegiances.
“It’s not going to be easy for him to make this decision,” he said.
“It’s also a surprise for me because he’s an Atletico Madrid fan – when he was young his heart was with Atletico Madrid.”
