West Ham James Tomkins was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning

West Ham United manager Sam
Allardcye admits he is disappointed that
James Tomkins James Tomkins was arrested in the
early hours of Sunday morning was arrested in the
early hours of Sunday morning following
an incident at the Sugar Hut nightclub in
Essex.
Police were called to the venue in
Brentwood by security staff and
Tomkins was charged with assaulting a
police officer, resisting arrest and being
drunk and disorderly.
The incident happened just hours after
West Ham were beaten 3-1 by
Manchester United at Old Trafford, but
Allardyce insists he had not broken any
disciplinary code at the club.
Allardyce said: "Because of the legal
side of it, it is difficult for me to
comment. The only thing I can say is
that I don't think James should have
been there, irrespective of whether he
got into trouble or not.
“It is the biggest profile public house in
this country probably and he would have
been better if he had stayed away. From
a club's point of view, there is nothing
he has broken in terms of rules. It is five
or six days till the next game so what
will happen from a legal point of view,
we will have to wait and see.
