REAL MADRID are plotting a £70million swoop of Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
The Bernanbeu club are expected to confirm Rafael Benitez's arrival as manager this week and are ready to spend big under the Spaniard's stewardship.
Madrid are already planning a £45m offer for Liverpool ace Raheem Sterling, who is yet to sign a new contract on Merseyside.
Sterling rejected a £100,000-a-week deal earlier this spring and is understood to be angling for a move away from Anfield.
Sergio Aguero scored 26 Premier League goals for Manchester City last season
And Madrid appear ready to complete a sensational double swoop on the Premier League as president Florentino Perez seeks to bring trophies back to the capital, according to the Daily Star.
Aguero, 27, finished top scorer in the Premier League this season with 26 goals, helping City to a second-place finish.
The Argentina international joined City from Atletico Madrid for £38m in 2011 and famously scored the winning goal on the last day of the 2012 season that earned the club the title.
But with Real willing to make room for him by cutting ties with Karim Benzema, it appears the forward may soon be heading back to Spain, with Sterling alongside.
