Arsenal lead Chelsea in the race to sign young forward from La Liga giants

Arsene Wenger wants to add more attacking options to his squad, with the hopes of posing a serious challenge for the Premier League title next season. Keeping that in mind, the Arsenalboss wants to focus on reinforcing his attacking depth ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Now that German World Cup winning forward Lukas Podolski has joined Turkish giants Galatasaray, Wenger is desperate to add Barcelona’s 19-year-old winger Munir El Haddadi to the Gunners’ squad.
Munir is one of the many fine young prospects that the Frenchman is targeting at the moment for the north London side.
The only reason the Spanish international is benched at the Nou Camp is due to the fact that the Catalan club has world-class attackers up front like Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez. It is for this reason that Munir is keen on moving away, to secure some first team football, according to The Daily Express.
It has also been reported that the Gunners were the first to approach Luis Enrique regarding the youngster and Chelsea’s interest in the player has gone cold in recent times
