Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi put in a man-of-the match display to help Italian club, SS Lazio draw 3-3 against Trabzonspor in an exciting Uefa Europa League game on Thursday.
Trabzonspor came into the game in great form as their results in the Turkish Super League sees them sit in second spot on the log after 6 rounds of matches.

Onazi scored a brilliant goal in the first half to temporarily reduce the deficit to 2-1 after the Turks stormed to a two-goal lead inside the first 22 minutes.

The combative midfielder timed his run to perfection as he latched onto a brilliant through ball from teammate, Bryan Perea in the 29th minute.

His first touch appeared heavy and looked to have let him down but he showed quick feet and got to the ball in time before chipping nonchalantly past the Trabzonspor goalkeeper, Onur Kivrak.

The Nigerian came close to doubling his evening’s tally with a rasping effort from outside the area on 57 minutes which warmed the palms of Kivrak.

He was full of running throughout and was by far and away Lazio’s most dominant player at the Huseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu.

Onazi’s compatriot, Godfrey Oboabona was not listed by the Turks.

Lazio won their first group game, 1-0 against Legia Warsaw on September 19 and are now top of Group J with 4 points from their opening 2 matches.
