Nigeria: Joe Erico Faulted Peters Appointment As Eagles Coach

Super Eagles former assistant coach, Joe Erico has spoken out against the decision by Nigeria Football Association to appoint James Peters as interim coach of the senior national side.

Erico stated in a chat with brilafm.net that he is unhappy the NFA fooled Nigerians after raising their hope of announcing the new handlers, but says he was not surprised because he knew the process was cosmetic right from the outset."The process was just cosmetic all along. They never seem to do the right thing, and have shown it once again. They just took the whole country for a ride, but I saw it coming."I really don't want to say anything about it, because it's like we keep repeating ourselves, and they just do what they want to do.

"That's why they would rather pick those who can bow to their wishes and keep quiet when things are not going right," he blasted.

Erico recalled that JP was shut out of the contingent to Ghana for the 2008 Nations Cup, despite being head of the technical department of the association and believes there is nothing the former Flying Eagles coach could have done rather than accept the job, since he is a civil servant.
