Mourinho Move To Inter Milan Not True-Massimo Moratti

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has broken his silence regarding the speculation linking Jose Mourinho to the Nerazzurri According to recent reports, the former Chelsea boss has been lined up as a replacement for current coach Roberto Mancini at the end of the season.

Moratti, however, has denied all knowledge of such a move.

"The assumption of Mourinho is an idea that others have, but it's not the truth," said Moratti.

Things have not gone well for Inter ever since their Champions League exit to Liverpool last month, in the aftermath of which Mancini announced he would leave the San Siro at the end of the season.

Although he later retracted his comments, Moratti has repeatedly had to deny he is looking for a new coach.

The ongoing speculation has affected the Nerazzurri players, who have failed to win in the last three games and have seen their lead over Scudetto contenders Roma cut to just four points with seven games remaining.

Moratti believes that a coaching change would be detrimental for his side, though.

"In my opinion, the situation should not be altered," said Moratti. "Because it allows us to go forward without having to experience any disturbance."

Inter travel to Bergamo to meet Atalanta on Sunday while Roma host Genoa this weekend.
