Aiyegbeni Yakubu has been left out of Everton's squad for the visit of Reading after the Nigerian returned late from the African Nations CupYakubu turned up at the Toffees' Finch Farm training ground on Friday morning, two days later than anticipated.
Toffees boss David Moyes told the club's website: "All I would say is that it is an internal matter. Yak has been in this morning, I have spoken to him and he won't be included in tomorrow's squad."
Yakubu's international team-mate Joseph Yobo is back in contention having returned on Wednesday.
South African midfielder Steven Pienaar is also back from Ghana but is carrying an ankle injury, while Victor Anichebe (knee) and on-loan defender Anthony Gardner (leg) are also out, and Leighton Baines (calf) is doubtful for the Premier League clash against the Royals at Goodison Park.
