Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger feels Jose Mourinho showed a lack of respect when the Chelsea boss claimed 10 years without winning the title must be "very boring".
Sections of the Arsenal support chanted "boring, boring Chelsea" after last weekend's goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium, a result which moved the Blues a step closer to their first Premier League title in five years.
In his post-match press conference, Chelsea manager Mourinho responded to the taunts, saying: "You support the club and you're waiting, waiting, waiting for so many years without a Premier League title, so that's very boring."
Mourinho's comments did not sit well with Wenger, who was given an opportunity to respond at Friday's press conference ahead of Arsenal's Monday Night Football clash with Hull.
Asked for his thoughts on Mourinho's post-match statements, and whether the Chelsea manager should conduct himself with more dignity, Wenger replied: "The biggest thing for a manager is to respect other managers. Some people have to improve on that.
"Look, everybody lives with his own internal problems and I live with mine. That's enough."
At his press conference later on Friday, Mourinho was given the opportunity to respond to Wenger's comments but the Chelsea boss shook his head to indicate he did not want to discuss the matter further.
Wenger has endured his fair share of touchline bust-ups down the years, including notable confrontations with former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Earlier this season, the Frenchman had to be separated from Mourinho after squaring up to the Chelsea boss in the technical area at Stamford Bridge.
Wenger, though, believes coaches must eventually put a distance between professional and personal disagreements.
"You can have incidents with other managers sometimes," he added.
"It gets a bit heated when you fight directly with them, but in the end I believe time heals and the important thing is to respect each other as much as you can."
