Chelsea manager still wants young Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane

Gary Cahill is fighting for his future at Chelsea as Jose Mourinho prepares to reconfigure his defence at the end of the season.
The Chelsea manager still wants young Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and the club are constantly monitoring the Frenchman's standing at the Bernabeu.
Varane is regarded as the future of Real Madrid, but Mourinho also sees the long-term potential in the young centre half.
ourinho's patience with Cahill snapped after the 5-3 defeat at Tottenham and the defender's career at Stamford Bridge is in jeopardy.
Mourinho is tempted to move Branislav Ivanovic into his preferred central defensive position next season and slot Cesar Azpilicueta into an orthodox right back position.
That would allow Filipe Luis to settle into left back
Mourinho has also been surprised by the rapid progress of Kurt Zouma after he replaced Cahill in the team for last Tuesday's Capital One Cup semi-final victory over Liverpool.
Zouma retained his place for the 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Saturday, but Mourinho still wants more defensive cover.
With captain John Terry expected to play on for one more season, Mourinho is planning for the long-term future at the Bridge.
