Confirmations have been received from Kenya, Uganda, Djibouti, Eritrea, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt, he said, noting that February 20 is the official arrival date.

Participants will compete in the 12 kilometre race for adults, eight kilometres for junior boys and six kilometres for junior girls
The regional event will be preceded by the national cross-country championships, also to be held in Moshi on February 17.

"We have to inform affiliate regional associations on the event so that they can select athletes to compete according to the set categories," he added.
